Found a sentence that looks wrong?
Thank you for looking closely. With this many sentences, a few may still be wrong, and we’d like to fix them. Here’s how to tell us:
- Answer the sentence, so its explanation card appears.
- Touch and hold the card, then choose Report this question.
- GramStar writes a short note for you, with the question’s number, the sentence, the options and your answer.
- Send it to support@gramstar.app, and add a line about what looks wrong. We’ll check it.
Nothing is sent until you send it yourself.

In these answers, “Settings” means GramStar’s own Settings. Tap the gear at the top of Home.
How many runs can I play a day?
Free: 2 runs a day, across all three levels, plus the daily puzzle. With GramStar Nova: 15 Beginner, 10 Intermediate and 5 Advanced runs a day, up to 30 in all. New runs arrive at midnight, your time.
A run is 10 sentences and takes about two minutes. A 5-question practice of a weak topic also uses one of the day’s runs. If you have to stop partway through a run, you can save it and finish it later. That doesn’t cost you another run.
What’s the daily puzzle?
Five sentences, the same for everyone at your level that day. It’s free, it comes on top of your runs, and it counts toward your streak.
Which level should I choose?
- Beginner (A1–A2): everyday basics, like tenses, a/an/the and in/on/at. No timer.
- Intermediate (B1–B2): work and exam English, like conditionals, the passive and reported speech. 15 seconds a sentence.
- Advanced (C1+): polish and nuance, like inversion, the subjunctive and formal linking. 10 seconds a sentence.
Not sure? When you first open GramStar, take the two-minute placement test, and it places you at a level. You can switch levels any time on Home, and each level keeps its own rating. If you’d rather play without a timer, turn off Timer in Settings.
Can I choose US or UK English?
Yes. In Settings, English style sets which answers count as right: US or UK.
How do streaks work?
A day counts when you finish a run or the daily puzzle. Every 7 days of streak earns you a streak freeze, and a freeze covers a day you miss. You can hold 2 freezes, or 5 with Nova.
What’s the daily goal?
It’s how many runs you’d like to play each day. Choose Casual (1 run), Steady (2) or Intense (5, with Nova) in Settings › Daily goal. Every run you start counts. When you reach it, GramStar tells you, and Home says Done.
Can I turn the sound off?
Yes. The speaker button at the top of Home mutes the sound effects and the background sound together. In Settings › Sound & feel, you can set each one’s volume, and turn haptics off too.
GramStar Nova
What does Nova add?
Nova is GramStar’s paid plan. It adds:
- More runs: 15 Beginner, 10 Intermediate and 5 Advanced a day, up to 30 in all.
- A review deck of your mistakes, so you can play them again. Reviews don’t use any of the day’s runs.
- Fuller explanations: after a miss, the rule for the right answer too, and example phrases.
- Up to 5 streak freezes instead of 2.
You can choose Monthly or Yearly, which are subscriptions that renew automatically, or Lifetime, which you pay for once. The app shows the prices in your currency. To get Nova, open Settings › Your plan.
How do I restore my purchase?
On a new iPhone, or after you reinstall GramStar, open Settings › Restore purchases, or tap Restore on the Nova screen. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy Nova.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Apple looks after subscriptions. On your iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Choose GramStar and tap Cancel Subscription. Inside GramStar, Settings › Your plan › Manage opens the same screen.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, so you aren’t charged for the next period. Nova stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. For a refund, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your progress
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no sign-up and no login. Your progress is saved on your iPhone.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings, choose Reset progress (under Your data) and confirm. This clears your ratings, streaks, badges and history on your iPhone. Your nickname and settings stay, and today’s runs still count. A reset can’t be undone.
I have a new iPhone. Can I keep my progress?
In this version, your progress is saved only on your iPhone, and it doesn’t sync between devices. It moves to a new iPhone when you set the new one up from your old iPhone, or from an encrypted backup. Nova belongs to your Apple Account, so use Restore purchases.
If I delete GramStar, do I lose my progress?
No. GramStar keeps a copy of your progress and photo on your iPhone, which stays there even if you delete the app. Install GramStar again, and you carry on where you left off, without setting it up again. To really start over, use Settings › Reset progress.
